PURPOSE DRIVES PASSION

The Story

For years, I have dedicated myself to the pursuit of being a professional skier. However, skiing can take a serious toll on the body. I took it upon myself to become educated on how to balance out my body so I can perform at my best every time. I found that the system I used for myself could be effective for other as well. I decided to own that role and be intentional about it by starting Train the Tetons.


When I would be seeking inspiration, help, or advice the Tetons were always there. Many of my values and beliefs have been shaped by these mountains and the lifestyle around them. The training experience is platform for personal growth and a gateway to new possibilities. Get to learn your body and learn how you can be at your best

 

MEET THE FOUNDER

Max Martin

I was born in the heart of the Tetons in Jackson, Wyoming. My home helped me developed a deep understanding for skiing and the mountains. The sport has made me the person I am. It has taught me to be humble, patient, and above all to have fun.

Growing up as a ski racer had its perks. I was able to travel the country and the world at a young age and make a lot of unique experiences. Eventually, the sport brought me to college at Plymouth State University. I was able to compete on the Division I circuit for 4 years and earn a B.S. Exercise & Sports Science. After graduating with honors in 2016 I decided to shift my focus from racing to big mountain skiing, and to use my education to help people. 

Upon my arrival home, I was quick to become a personal trainer and health coach. In my time home, I have worked with all demographics and levels of athletes. By blending my education with my experience as an athlete, it gives me a platform to help anyone achieve their goals.

Plymouth State University Male Athlete of the Year (2014 & 2016)
First Student-Athlete in Plymouth State history to compete at a NCAA Alpine Championship.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

Knowledge is power. I believe in teaching people how to understand their body. By educating athletes on their movements it creates a strong foundation in both physical and mental capabilities. Having the knowledge of how your body is completing a task is the ultimate tool in keeping yourself healthy and injury free.
